You can read the age of a structure alone in İznik, but also from the change of material on the wall. Cutting stone, brick generation, mortar and reusable marble parts make the city’s long repair history visible.

This reading is a method of observation instead of exact date. The presence of different weaves in the same structure can be associated with earthquake, function change or late period repair.
