İznik passed the Ottoman administration in 1331, created a sudden transformation that spawns and regenerates the Roman and Byzantine city. New mosques, medreses, signs and tombs settled on the existing street network; the main axes of the ancient city continued to be used with different functions.

This walk shows how early Ottoman architecture is built in the city of buildings rather than just put the historical sequence. Ibadet, education, distribution, accommodation and rated functions can be read in close stops.

Hacı Özbek Mosque: A New Language in Small Scale

Hacı Özbek Mosque is among the earliest Ottoman structures in Iznik. The small size, single dome plan and stone-heavy weave thought that the new architectural language was built in the neighborhood scale before a showing monument.

See the rhythm of the material on the facade and the rate of the input. If the building is open to worship, take care of creating a crowd in small indoors.

Nilüfer Hatun Image: From Social Structure to Museum

1388 is the architecture of the foundation structure, which offers a variety of privileges, transportations and meals. The reverse T plan clearly shows the concept of the early Ottoman multifunctional structure of the middle sections and side spaces with dome.

See the building itself until the collection is used as a museum today. Under the Revak, the stone-by-shears the knitting, the transition to the dome and the change of the life of the mulch to examine the tomb stones in the garden.

Green Mosque and Süleyman Pasha Medresesi

The minaret of Green Mosque combines with firuze and purple tones marble workmanship. The direction of the light changes patterns; in the morning and in the afternoon, the minaret shows better than the different facades.

Süleyman Pasha Medresesi protects the cells organized around the courtyard of the educational structure. Today, the use of tile workshops allows the history of the construction to turn into a living space.

Complete Route in Yakup Çelebi

Yakup Çelebi build community brings worship and memorial functions at the same stop. The calmer surroundings of the structure again feel the neighborhood scale of the early Ottoman city after large monuments in the center.

Route can fit for half a day; leave flexible share for museum, worship and workshop hours. Compare structures in terms of plan, material and social function rather than race alone with ‘first’ or ‘the oldest’ adjectors.
